ANU Improv

Improv is the art of acting, creating and becoming characters on the stage... except with no script, and with no plan. Which makes it dynamic, unpredictable, and fun! It is much more than simply making up things when you forget your lines; it is a distinctly collaborative activity where you must learn to trust other people’s ideas. And everyone who practices it can tell you a different thing that they enjoy about improv: meeting and chilling with cool people, having a safe space to unleash ideas, or the stories that you can find yourself creating on the stage that you may struggle to create anywhere else.

Here's a few of the shenanigans we get up to at ANU Improv:

  • Weekly workshops which currently run every Wednesday 6-8pm at Crisp Building L017, often focusing on different skills and parts of improv. We also have the occasional sporadic Sunday. No membership is required, so feel free to join us!

  • Special events to get to know your fellow improvisers, including chill picnics and ranked competitive Jackbox games (/s)

  • Performances! You may find our upcoming ones in the events tab or on our Facebook page; look out for these!

Whether you already have experience with acting or not, and whether you're interested in developing your theatrical skills or just want something cool to do on your weekends, we welcome you at ANU improv!

To sign up to our mailing list, among other perks including being appreciated and a lower chance of being murdered in the night by the Ipvorm society (no relation), become an official member here: https://anuimprov.getqpay.com/

We don't have anything planned right now but check back soon!
